The National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) has recognized Denver Public Health (DPH) with its Model Practice Award for implementing “Integration of Family Planning Services in an STD Clinic Setting.” DPH received the award July 15 at NACCHO’s annual conference.
Integration of Family Planning is one of only 24 local public health programs selected from across the U.S. to receive a Model Practice Award. This is DPH’s fourth Model Practice Award in the past seven years.
The Model Practice Award honors initiatives – including programs, resources and tools – that demonstrate how local health departments and community partners can effectively collaborate to address public health concerns.
The Integration of Family Planning project works to ensure that all patients in the Denver Metro Health Clinic are offered family planning counseling and services at least once a year.
NACCHO is the national organization representing local health departments. NACCHO supports efforts that protect and improve the health of all people and all communities by promoting national policy, developing resources and programs.
