Rus Heise

Mayor John Hickenlooper has appointed Rus Heise, Colorado Municipal Finance Office of RBC Capital Markets, to serve on the Denver Health Board of Directors.  The City Council approved the appointment on July 26. 

“We are very happy to welcome Mr. Heise to our board and our Denver Health family,” said Patricia A. Gabow, M.D., chief executive officer.  “We will greatly benefit from his background and experience in the world of finance given the fiscal challenges Denver Health faces with growing numbers of uninsured and decreasing payments.”  

 Heise succeeds Bruce Alexander, president, Vectra Bank, who served 10 years on the Board.  Alexander completed two five-year terms in June. 

Heise has been with RBC Finance since l976, and has broad expertise in revenue financing for municipalities, as well as in urban renewal, transportation, utility and health care.  RTD, and the cities of Denver and Broomfield have been among his clients.  Projects he has worked on include Stapleton, Lowry, Centerra, Meridian, Ridgegate, Sheridan and several DURA Downtown projects.  He is a past-chairman of Visit Denver and the Downtown Denver Partnership.  He holds bachelor’s and MBA degrees from the University of Minnesota. 

Denver Health’s board has nine members who serve alternating five-year terms.
