Older adults, age 65 and older, are the fastest growing segment of the population. Estimates predict that more than 40 million older adults will be licensed drivers by 2020. The AARP Driver Safety Program is the nation's first and largest classroom refresher course for driver’s age 50 and older that has helped millions of drivers remain safe on today's roads. The 8-hour course is designed to help:

  • Tune up driving skills and update knowledge of the rules of the road.
  • Learn about normal age-related physical changes and how to adjust driving habits to incorporate these changes.
  • Reduce risk traffic violations, crashes and chances for injuries.
  • Drive more safely.
  • Get an insurance discount. Auto insurance companies in most states provide a multiyear discount to AARP Driver Safety graduates!

Course material is based on information gained through research to determine what is needed by this age group to update driver knowledge and skills. Most important, the class provides opportunities for the participants to identify individual problem areas and apply information that is needed to improve their behavior as drivers. For additional information please call AARP at 303-764-5995 or visit their website. English/Spanish classes are available.
